Who are we?

Kathy and Den live in Stokesley North Yorkshire within sight of the Cleveland Hills which form part of the Lyke Wake Walk. Kathy has led 49 crossings (as at October 2025) and is passionate about the North Yorks Moors and long distance walking in general. Den does the back up, following groups across the moors and is always a welcome sight at a checkpoint. We’re here to answer all your questions and make sure you are fully prepared for an unforgettable experience and that you complete your crossing safely.

From 2026 we will have 2 guides on each crossing, still limiting groups to a maximum of 15, we will be able to split groups to accommodate different paces. The legendary Len Hendry will be joining our crossings. Len is an astonishingly capable walker with extensive experience and has done more than 10 crossings.

All our guides are appropriately qualified, have first aid training and are insured.

We do private groups and have several booked in 2026 and 2027 for local charities and individuals - contact us if you’d like to discuss hiring a guide with or without backup for your crossing.

We offer FREE guided walks come and meet us, you don’t have to cross with us to walk with us. Have a look at our walks https://www.facebook.com/groups/1020372053001344

Why choose us?

We mainly offer supported crossings of the Lyke Wake Walk and do far more than any other commercial organisation, from 2026 we have introduced The White Rose Walk and a 50 mile circular challenge route at the request of people who have done the LWW with us.

Open group crossings will have a maximum of 15 walkers, it’s generally 10-12, we meet as strangers and quickly become a well functioning team.

There’s a WhatsApp group set up for each date where we’ll post training tips and walkers can start to get to know each other.

We’ll give you a full kit list and training schedule.

We offer free training walks on the North Yorks Moors, North Yorkshire coast and the Dales, with a Facebook page where the walks are listed. These are free guided walks, you can join as many as you want and you don’t have to cross with us to join them. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1020372053001344

If your not successful on your first attempt you get a second free and a third at gunpoint! Though we may not be able to offer transport.

Once you’ve crossed with us you can join any open group, subject to availability and not necessarily with transport, free, as many times as you wish. Lots of clients cross with us several times a year.

We supply water, unlimited sugar based snacks and blister plasters.

A free surprise gift at the end of the walk.
